Overview: Under the supervision of the Service Manager, performs repairs on various medical devices and equipment; namely servicing and repairing pumps (Alaris, Baxter, B Braun, Medfusion, Hospira).
Utilizes troubleshooting skills and test equipment, process documents and drawings, disassembling and assembling devices, hand soldering components, to perform a full spectrum of repairs. Responsible for performing technical testing and verification of completed assemblies, and sub-assemblies. Records test results and other data into a computerized business system.
Responsibilities
Diagnose problems with customer medical equipment using industry knowledge as well as company procedures to determine what type of repairs are necessary to return equipment to end use.
Execute repair and assembly of products for shipment to customers.
Document inventory receipts, shipments, and movement of equipment as required.
Follow all policies and procedures regarding clean work area and environmental issues
Adhere to quality system standards and procedures, and ensure customer requirements and needs are met.
Participates in corrective and preventive action process
Continually seek to improve processes and workflow
Minimum Qualifications
Medical device troubleshooting and repair experience preferred, with a focus on patient monitoring, infusion pumps, and ventilators desired.
Extensive experience using typical shop equipment and small hand tools on small scale products
Proper ESDS procedures
At least 2 years of experience and demonstrated ability to follow written instructions and understand basic engineering documentation – drawings, diagrams, and procedures
Advanced knowledge of electronic test equipment
Direct experience interfacing with work order/inventory control modules of an MRP system
Direct experience with FDA/ISO work environment as it relates to incident reporting, nonconforming materials procedures, and equipment calibration.
High school diploma required. Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience desirable
IPC or J-STD-001 certification strongly desired
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and must be capable of learning new software programs introduced into the workflow by the company from time to time
Ability to adapt quickly to change and work in a rapidly evolving environment
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a highly regulated medical device environment
Must be well organized and process oriented
Ability to interact with others effectively
A natural problem solver who exhibits a desire to improve processes and employs the initiative to bring solutions and problems to management
This is a non-exempt position some overtime may be required
